Gosh.. I had 红烧鱼头 for dinner today.. A dish that I missed for at least 23 years.. It used to be a regular dish that my dad will order whenever we had zi char.. It consists of fish head, beancurd, veg, yam, mushroom etc.. they deep fried the fish head then braised with gravy.. it's so yummy :p
Feel very sad when I hear this news yesterday...
One of my friend had an operation to remove her womb.. It is not an easy decision for a women.. She is so brave.. I feel very sad for her cause she won't be able to enjoy motherhood.. I'll visit her tomorrow :(
sob.. sob..
I'm turning crazy again..
I've been eyeing on a bag for years.. and occasionally when I'm "too" free.. My mind start wonder.. Initially there was so much to consider.. the size, the handle, the colour.. then the bag become so common on the street.. It is inexpensive.. yet I'm still wondering if I should get it..
Browse through the official website today.. and realised that you can customize it.. choose the size, handle length, colour, finishing of the metallic accessories and even embroidery your name.. it takes 3 weeks for delivery.. *bingo*
Should I buy it or not? Continue thinking..

I witness an accident yesterday morning.. Right before my eye and
there was nothing I could do to stop it.. I can only scream and
obviously it didn't help.. The old lady who jay walked was first
knocked by a Toyota then followed by a silver cab.. both drivers tried
to avoid but it was difficult.. The drivers came out of the cars to
check if she was ok.. I saw her consious & show pain on her leg.. it
was a disturbing sign & I hope she's fine :(

New adventure.. New struggle.. New challenge..
Got this phone by chance..
Story goes:
My contract expire on 06Sep.. It is a day I longed for when I got the motorola 2 months back.. but I didn't change my mobile phone.. Singtel customer service contact me on 08Sep to offer S$8 rebate off my phone bill as my contract is up for renewal. The discount is ongoing until I renewed my contract (which is getting a new phone).. I want to change a phone so the $8 doesn't look attractive to me.. I'm just lazy to make a decision and to go queue for a phone in Singtel.. Anyway there isn't many choices in the market too.. The option opens for me are HTC Hero, N97 or Iphone 3GS.. So I told the customer service that I want to change a phone and I want Iphone 3GS 16GB in black.. Thought this item was out of stock.. and to my surprise, he reply "yes", I have it and will deliver to your office on 14Sep.. AND I got this yesterday! :)
I'm still not ready for it.. so it is simply an empty phone (with no music uploaded, no idea how to use it, no casing)..

I got a sms from Didi last weekend.. He wants to meet up but I'm so damn busy with my work.. I just hope that my new colleague can join me soon.. So I can have my life back..
Didi is so cute.. He wants to make advance booking :) and he MISS me! I'm so touch..

Claypot Fun
902 East Coast Parkway
Playground @ Big Splash
I watched a TV program on the origin of claypot rice and was craving for it *drooling*..
I know there is a newly opened air-con claypot rice in East Coast so I decide to try it out on Sat..
We are the first customer (hehe!! kaisu.. cause no reservation allowed!!).. The moment you step into the shop.. it gives you a retro feels with the decor and music played.. even the plate, spoon and bowl come with the hen print.. you can smell the aroma of the sesame.. We ordered steamed chicken with mushroom claypot rice, yong tau foo and 高汤菠菜.. This shop sells Cantonese style claypot rice, it is different from the normal claypot rice that we eat.. there is no dark sauce.. There is a special house made sauce for the rice.. It is a light in colour sauce not really that salty or sweet.. it looks like sesame oil or light soya sauce.. even through it look pale.. it is very yummy!! Especially the burned rice :)
The foods are very tasty and price is reasonable except the waitress not very helpful.. Overall experience is 3/5 :)
My stay at Hilton KL.. I've a nice deluxe room.. Beautiful and comfortable.. I relax in the marble bathroom with rainshower.. definitely more luxury then where the team stayed even though they had a suite but mine is a 5 stars hotel.. wahaha!! I want to go back again :)
Dinner at Madam Kwan @ Mid valley follow by coffee at a kopi place..
Finally back to reality...................................
Tones of work and stuff to clear..........................
sigh......................................................
I'm craving for chilli crab again.. Since I was at Changi area.. so I decide to get a crab from Changi Village but forgotten which is the best one as there is an increase number of coffee shops on the same row.. My instinct told me "to go with the best crab photos"..
Qi Feng Seafood Restuarant LLP
Blk 5 Changi Village Road
#01-2021
The price is 1kg at S$32 and I ordered 1 crab.. it weight slightly more than 1 kg but the uncle only charge me 1kg.. As I was not hungry, I asked if he could pack the gravy and crab separately but the uncle says it won't taste nice.. In the end, he wrapped the outer layer with aluminium foil.. he claim that even if I eat it at 11pm, it would still be hot..
I brought a Delifrance baguette from Esso station.. toast it and it goes very well with the gravy.. The gravy is thick with lots of egg.. the crab is really fresh and the meat is tough.. *Oishi*
My first visit to Changi Budget Terminal.. it was crowded as there was a flight taking off to Chennai.. It is a very simple terminal with 2 food outlets (Mac and Hans) and a newspaper/magazine stand.. even the check in counter, paint, toilet look really plain..
I had a coffee, french fries and an apple pie at Macdonald.. realised that the garlic chilli is back.. haha!!
Unbelievable! MJ is dead :x He dies of cardiac arrest.. sob.. sob..
This is the most shocking news that I heard this morning on radio while driving.. He was found fainted at his home in LA.. when I heard this.. my mind was thinking.. where the hell is his maid, body guards etc?? Could this be a scam? Maybe he was too stress by the series of comeback concert in London? Too sick of the paparazzi.. The pressure of child abuse accusation, marriage, fatherhood, money, sleep on hyerbaric oxygen chamber, his nose dropping off etc..
I was pondering.. maybe dead would be the best thing for him.. since he will be remember forever as the King of Pop!
My only regret is that I've never watch his live concert before & I'll never have the chance anymore..
Finally had my long craving okonomiyaki with darling V.. haha!
Manpuku Japanese Gourmet Town
#03-16/17/18/19 Tampines 1
We had moon light special okonomiyaki with extra mayonnaise (ok! very fattening!), Sho-yu scallop ramen and 2 chicken wings.. The scallop ramen is so yummy! The okonomiyaki is so heavy that we end up feeling very sleepy..
After lunch, darling brought a dress and a spa oil..
Was driving to Takashimaya.. and thinking where should I go for lunch.. The heavily advertisement "Tian Jin Lou" cross my mind.. so I decide to give it a try..
Tian Jin (United) Restaurant Pte Ltd
22 Cavenagh Road
#02-01 Hotel Grand Central
It was crowded and because I didn't had a reservation.. I had to wait.. The guy managing the counter (not sure if he is the manager or supervisor) was very kind and keep assuring that there will be a seat soon..
There is a 50% discount on the dim sum for weekend.. we ordered a total of 9 items (xiao long bao, deep fried beancurb skin with shrimp, paper wrap chicken, century egg congee etc..), with chinese tea, pickles and wet towel.. the total bill is only S$28.70 (including taxes).. Although it is not the best dim sum but it is edible.. considering this kind of pricing and it is a fully air-con restaurant..
Overall services was not bad.. the waiter did warn us to place order at one-go and a re-order would take really long.. and the waitress who serve our table was nice and alert.. at least when I ask for a glass of water.. she didn't pretend not to see me.. haha!! :)
I've the most crazy phone for the next three months.. How am I going to survive on a motorola? I just can't sms as I like.. This stupid phone cannot take in all my stuff cos the memory is not as great as my N95 8GB.. It can't store my complete list of address book.. my friend's photo in address book.. my pic, video, music.. I can't even surf internet through mobile.. argh!! I feel like crying!!
I'm going through a TOUGH transition..
Wow.. time flies.. Remember I was just counting down for new year and now we are almost passing the half way mark.. And it is time for my birthday celebration..
As usual, birthday gal get to choose the venue.. May and I decided to go for seafood.. Ok, we are boring.. I admitted it and the gals admitted it too.. so next outing is definitely without Seafood, Japanese and Steamboat.. hmm.. really wonder what we are going to eat next and it will be Shirley's birthday..

Jumbo Seafood (Riverside Point)
30 Merchant Road
#01-01/02 Riverside Point
We've been here numerous times.. We ordered chilli crab, black pepper crab, deep fried sotong, drunken herb prawn, mini scallop on yam ring, bean curb with broccoli and seafood fried rice.. The drunken herb prawn is so yummy.. After dinner, we head to TCC at Clarke Quay for my fave manago yogurt freeze!! I believe it is not what we eat but the company, the noise and laughter that we made :)
I really treasure them.. and hope this kind of outing and our friendship will continue till we age..
Your thoughtfulness always makes my days a little brighter,
and problems seem a whole lot smaller. .
Thank for being there always..
My first visit to young and savvy mall for the new generation - Tampines 1.. Total of 5 storey.. many eatery and shops.. A nicely designed mall.. easy to walk.. So I now prefer to shop in Tampines 1 over Tampines Mall and Century Square :)
Manpuku Japanese Gourmet Town
#03-16/17/18/19 Tampines 1
I walked floor by floor to search for the Japanese street.. At first, I expect it to be a street full of Japanese foods.. just like the Jurong Shopping Mall in Boon Lay but it ended up like the Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar in Raffles City.. It is the same concept as the Marche and Village.. You are given a payment card and a tag to reserve your table.. The hall features 10 counters with sashimi, okonomiyaki, ramen, udon, dessert etc.. I had miso char siew ramen from (which I missed very much), sushi, BBQ (scallops, pork belly and unagi) and an apple juice.. I'm going to try okonomiyaki and maybe a cake or dessert on my next visit :)
Thought I could own the cinema on weekday but it was crowded due to school holiday.. Anyway the movie ticket is only S$6.50 on Tuesday.. I spent another S$7 on nacho cheese combo with my fave coke light :O
Interesting movie.. you never know who is the bad guy till the end.. Initially I thought he was the bad guy but as the story goes.. he seem to be good.. do his best for the church and almost sacrifice his life for the people gathering outside St Peter's square.. In the end, he is the one behind the plot.. and he die terribly..

My adventure to the Marina Barrage.. The view was wonderful as you can see the skyline of the business district and the flyers.. It was really windy.. I even had a cup of teh tarik which I got from Lau Pau Sat..
Only terrible sight was the washroom is so damn dirty.. I suspect it is the people who went to the Seven Storey steamboat restaurant who dirty it :(

This year, I only had Lo Hei twice.. 1 with the family and 1 with my girlfrens.. I missed the company Lo Hei..
This year we had our Lo Hei at No-Sign Board in Vivo city.. the foods tasted TERRIBLE and EXPENSIVE!! I think the standard is not there as compare to the Geylang branch..
The Lo Hei is so dry.. the chilli crab taste terrible.. the coconut drink is so old.. This would be my 1st and last time to dining there.. The only surprise was I met a group of friends (AM Quek, Anthony, Nick, Hamidah etc).. the group were here on a company Lo Hei.. really miss the industry people so much and was so happy to see them again..

I had my 1st very traditional Poon Choi (盆菜) of my life.. Poon Choi is composed of many layers of different ingredients. It is also eaten layer by layer instead of "stirring everything up", but impatient diners may snatch up the juicy radish at the bottom first using shared chopsticks.. Traditional Village Poon Choi is served in large metal washing bowls with a perforated metal plate at the bottom to keep food from burning, as it is kept warm on a portable stove as it is being served.. poon choi with shrimp, dried oyster, chicken, duck, mushroom, broccoli, cabbage, radish.. aiyo so many stuff inside that I forget what I eat.. anyway it is so delicious *yummy*
It has been an extremely busy week.. running around like mad :( Finally TGIF.. need to de-stress.. so went to AMK to catch Red Cliff II and had my nacho cheese! *yummy* The movie is nice but a bit "over".. in really history it seem a little different.. but zhuge liang is really smart & witty!
Synopsis:
The story of RED CLIFF takes place in 208 AD in China during the Han Dynasty. Despite the presence of an emperor, Han Xiandi, China was then divided into many warring states.
The ambitious Prime Minister Cao Cao, by using the Emperor as his puppet, waged war on a kingdom in the west, Xu, ruled by the emperor’s uncle, Liu Bei. Cao Cao’s ultimate goal was to wipe out all the kingdoms and install himself as Emperor to a unified China. Liu Bei sent his military advisor Zhuge Liang as an envoy to the Wu Kingdom in the south, trying to persuade its ruler Sun Quan into joining forces. There he met Wu’s Viceroy Zhou Yu, and the two became friends amidst this uneasy alliance.
Enraged to learn that the two kingdoms have become allies, Cao Cao sent an army of eight hundred thousand soldiers and two thousand ships down south, hoping to kill two birds with one stone. Cao Cao’s army set up camp at Crow Forest, across the Yangtze River from Red Cliff, where the allies were stationed.
With the food supply running short, and the army vastly outnumbered by Cao Cao’s, the allies seemed doomed. Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang had to rely on their combined wisdom to turn the tide of battle. Numerous battles of wits and forces, on land and on water, eventually culminated into the most famous battle in Chinese history, where two thousand ships were burned, and the course of China’s history was changed forever. That was the Battle of Red Cliff.

My necklace, ring, earring and watch are very DIRTY!! Have been so reluctant to send it for cleaning.. as I'm super lazy.. So some days, I'm not even wearing my necklace or ring etc..
I think god hear my wish.. Dex brought me a digital ultrasonic cleaner at S$79.90 from DIY shop.. It can clean CDs, DVDs, VCDs, watches, necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, coins, watches straps, bands, glasses, sunglasses, contract lens accessories, dentures, combs, toothbrushes, table wares etc.
Just need to use water.. if too dirty then u can add soap.. is so easy and i wash everything.. including the house key.. haha!
Everything *bling, bling* now..
Wow.. my previous project lead is going to give me a review to my performance.. I'm so happy! I know it won't go wrong *cross finger*.. He been a very nice superior.. and during my 9 months work with him.. I was really taken care of.. I was a little sad that we have to part and now we are in different projects :(
I miss the team!

Sun with Moon Japanese Fine Dining & Cafe
501 Orchard Road #03-15 Wheelock Place
1st girl night outing for year 2009.. is to celebrate Evelyn's birthday..
Birthday girl has chosen the Sun with Moon Japanese fine dining and cafe at Wheelock place..The atmosphere was nice but the waitress who took our order seem to be a trainee.. she even missed 1 of our order (Caesar salad with chicken).. In the end, our orders are rainbow roll, California roll, wagyū beef with bacon, grill wagyū beef, fried udon, kamameshi with grill eel & clams, grill pork with pepper sauce and chicken teriyaki
We were caught by the attention of the banner outside the restaurant promoting the wagyū beef (和牛).. our saliva were already dripping.. so we ordered two different plates of wagyū beef.. Lucky we only ordered two plates as it is really disappointing.. it was nothing fantastic, probably due to the different grade of cattle. Even the bean spouts served with the grill wagyū beef tasted better than the beef. The wagyū beef with bacon was even worst.. the beef was totally uncooked! can't even chew. I can take medium or even medium raw.. but that one is totally RAW!!
Personally I like the rainbow sushi & kamamenshi (釜飯) with grill eel & clams. The rainbow sushi comprises of crispy soft shell crab, mango, avocado rolled in seaweed with Japanese rice seasoned with vinegar, covered with mayonnaise and topped with bright tangy crunchy smelt roe. The kamamenshi is like claypot rice.. it is served with a little hourglass on top indicates when the wooden lid may be lifted.. the clam was tasty and love the seasoned eel :)
All other dishes are just so-so.. it is either too tough or too salty :(
After the dinner, we decided that we should go somewhere else for dessert.. We serioulsy need something sweet to satisify our craving.. we were thinking of Häagen-Dazs or coffee connection. When we were ready to leave the restaurant, we suddenly remember that there is NYDC cafe downstair.. But it was packed and the next door Big O cafe restaurant capture our attention.. the dessert menu look pretty similar to NYDC cafe (actually Big O is the sister restaurant)
Big O Cafe Restaurant
501 Orchard Road #02-04/05
We got so excited over the menu.. most of the desserts are named after the movie "BATMAN".. We ordered the dark side (mud pie), Big O waffles with ice-cream topped with blueberry & chocolate nastiness. The dessert serving were huge in portion.. I love the chocolate nastiness cause the cake was served a little warm.. The waffles also taste great with my fave blueberry topping.. It also have another choice of topping "banana caramel" but I'm not a big fan of banana.. The mud pie was really tough but the girls enjoyed it.. I also had a glass of walking on sunshine.. It's a blended drink with mango tango ice cream.. at first I thought it was a float but they actually blend the ice cream so it kind of thick.. like milk shake.. LOVE IT!! :)
I read through my entries from 2006 - 2007.. time flies.. many good and sad memories in my life that are all recorded here..

The New Year is a time to reflect on what we have done over the year.. what we want and need for the new year..
I need to get rid of the bad habit and live my life to the fullest in 2009..
Lifestyle - eat healthy and get fit
Attitude - be patient, laugh more, stay happy always
Love - spend more quality time with my loved one
Self - read more.. continue learning
I've been using the slow cooker to boil barley water, red bean soup, korean ginseng drink and birdnest.. I'm getting very rely on this slow cooker.. and getting really lazy :P
So it is about time to do some cooking.. I haven't cook for awhile ever since I did a clear up on the kitchen.. Finally, I use the "quite" newly purchased WMF wok and cook fried bee hoon.
Ingredient:-
- half pack of bee hoon
- char siew
- cai xin
- eggs
- olive oil, pepper, oyster sauce, sesame oil, hua diao wine, char siew sauce..
Was struggling whether to cook white or black bee hoon.. end up I decide to use the char siew sauce so I won't waste the ingredient.. end result: sightly red colour bee hoon and surprisingly YUMMY & TASTY :P
I also fried a pack of ikan bilis.. full of calcium.. and it should go well with the bee hoon..
Wow.. I had the X'mas high-tea at Marriott with my colleagues.. I was looking forward to it as it is always fun :)
Last year, we had it at Royal Plaza on Scotts and I had lunch before the high-tea so didn't eat much.. This year, I went with an empty tummy but still I didn't eat much.. sigh.. really waste money.. But is the company that count! :)
The spread was ok.. there are salad, sushi, hot meal, dessert, soup, some asian dish (e.g. laksa, prawn noodle etc).. My main crave for buffet is always salad, sashimi and seafoods.. The salad selection is not that great.. but the tomato soup and bak ku teh was not bad :) Now I think of it, I don't remember seeing any bread to go with the soup :(
I had the scone with french vanilla sauce (from another counter), jam, black berry preserves and cream.. if it is serve hot, it would be fantastic.
Feel very depressed with a very sad and sudden news.. I'm at a loss of word.. Grief and mourning are natural responses to loss.. I can feel for her.. I know she must be very depressed, emotional, loss..
Someone who has been her partner for years.. sharing her joy and sorrow.. sleep, eat, shop, worry, share the child burden, decision making, financial support.. suddenly just left her because of virus attack.. It must be really very tough to accept this fact..
Hope she is strong.. rest well.. and slowly recover from this loss..
It is the time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude to the people around you..
It been years since I last eaten at the chatterbox.. It has now moved to the 39th floor (used to be Top of the M) of Meritus Mandarin as the hotel is currently undergoing renovation..
Initally I was looking forward to the experience.. since I've never been to Top of the M.. but the journey of getting there is terrible due to the renovation work.. The hotel front walkway is close up.. I need to walk to the side door.. take the lift to 5th floor and change for the another lift to 38/39th floor.. The seat was fantastic.... overlooking Orchard road.. I was hoping that I can see the X'mas lighting at a bird eye view but to my disappointment I can't see anything at all.. the view is just pitch dark with blocks of condo.. The 39th floor resturant have not undergo renovation yet thus the place don't leave a great impression on my mind.. Is unlike the view at Equinox - Swissotel Stamford.. sigh..
What I eat? of cos, the fave chicken rice.. It is now priced at S$22 per set.. I won't think it is fantastic as there are many popular chicken rice stalls in Singapore and the price is not as expensive as this one.. To pay those kind of price, I would expect a "special" feeling..
After dinner, I walked along Orchard Road to see the lighting.. there are still many people shopping in Taka and Wisma.. where is the pressure of economic crisis?!?! :)
Congratulation to Khew and his wife..
Attended Khew's wedding dinner last night at Hyatt.. It was beautiful and Khew looked very nervous..I was the last guest to enter the ballroom and nearly walked in with the groom and bride.. haha!! Khew been sending me reminder since months ago to block the date in my calendar so it good that he saw me.. haha!!
The wedding started with the projection of their wedding photo.. very nicely taken and for a moment, we thought it was taken oversea.. can’t really tell which part of Singapore did they took the photo.. Lovely music was played.. after the wedding photo, the flower girls walked in follow by the groom and bride. Then the dinner start at 8:30pm.
I'm glad I attended as I get to meet up with my ex-colleague.. and I was extremely happy to see our special guests Joe, Michael and Tony (flow all the way from Japan).. Of cos, dinner was lots of fun with the Ang Moh on our table.. Tony worn the Scottish traditional clothes and Khew's wife was so excited and requested for a photo with him.. We had lots of laughter as dinner were served.. especially on the black chicken ginseng soup.. Michael and Tony actually asked if we colour the chicken and my witty reply was... it's an African American .. Joe, Michael and Tony were so excited when we were asked to stand up for a toast.. they keep wanting to do "yum seng" but instead Khew did the "English style".. Cheers.. haha!! But of cos, the group will not let him go.. when he final came to our table.. we did the "yum seng", it was long and loud that my ear was ringing.. Khew had no choice cos I've his boss and ex-boss on my table..
I'm very happy for him and he will be heading for Hawaii for honeywell..
~*~*~*~ Marriage requires two people to give up "mine" and "yours" in order to create an "ours" ~*~*~*~
I had an urgement with a client.. I can't stand unreasonable person.. and I can't stand people who accused my team, my company or myself.. We did nothing wrong.. we are a team of good buyers who follow closely to the rule and always did our best to source for the best value items..
If the purchase is not approved, that is the client internal issue.. we don't approve what you buy.. we just help you to source.. Stop blaming us if your company is incapable to control, communicate and handle problem..
I had a meeting with the user and supplier yesterday over the requirement and cost estimation.. User will not reduce the work load and wanted every single item as planned.. Thus I've to get supplier to reduce their cost..
I managed to get supplier to reduce the cost not because I was a good negotiator.. It was out of goodwill and relationship that we have builded with this supplier over the years.. I know my supplier is willing to do it so he can get that client out of my back..
When I was in the discussion with my supplier, my manager called in and he was happy that I managed to reduce the charge to even lower than what my company is paying.. Isn't it amazing? Luckily my manager is very understanding and he agreed that the charge was reasonable and after working out on some calculation, we managed to agreed on a charge that was not so much loss to the supplier.. I'm grateful for the supplier's support.
My manager told me that it was a good work.. but I was not in mood to actually claim credit :(
What really upset me was... after we reduce the charge, the user actually says we can buy more expensive gift now.. sigh! probably just a remark.. but I thot you are suppose to be tight budget and yet when I asked for the budget for this work.. Reply was "there is no budget" :(
Isn't it ugly?
I had a very hard day with the client today.. they even wanted to talk to my manager.. go ahead.. I feel that my supplier is not charging you unreasonably as the scope of work is really alots.. When can stupid people stop comparing apple with banana..
The client know the cost for that work.. that why they dare not take up my challenage in comparing pricing with their current supplier..
They just want to push me hard.. so I can get my supplier to reduce the price.. but that is not fair to my supplier.. I pity my supplier and really hope that they will not do any future work for these people anymore..
I feel so tired to explain to unreasonable people..
Been suffering since Sunday.. flu and cough..
Monday night, went to doc at Simei but it was a long queue and I really didn't have the patient to wait for an hour.. so decide that I will give it amiss.. Went home took a hot bath and lay on bed.. struggle for an hour before I can fall asleep even through I was really tired.. Through out the night, I was still coughing non-stop..
Yesterday I finally see a doc at Paragon.. it was "queue-less".. no dinner as I don't feel eating..
Hopefully I will feel better before the weekend..
Once again, is the monthly outing for the ladies... The occassion is to celebrate Amanda L's birthday.. This time we have a special guest Joshua with us..
We choose Aerin's at Raffles City.. It is a casual dining but the set up was beautiful except the water feature create too much noise which I felt we need to scream at each other as we chat through out the night.. We ordered pumpkin soup, tomato soup, chef's salad with chicken, deep fried calamari, spaghetti chicken, duck leg confit, rib eye steak... and ended with a dessert baked apple & rhubarb pie.. the ladies also ordered several funny colour drinks except me.. I only had warm water.. oh! & chicken nuggets with fried for our special guest Joshua..
The food is savour but the portion was too much for us.. the soup came in really big bowl and never tried their tomato soup.. it tasted like tomato paste.. too thick till it can go as a spaghetti sauce.. I personal like the spaghetti chicken very much because it tossed with kabayaki sauce and topped with nori & bonito flakes.. very Japanese style.. The dessert was also wonderful which is a signature dish but you need to wait 15 mins as it is freshly baked.. it is also in super hugh portion..
Overall it was a nice dining experience in a new place.... and with my lovely kaki :)
& not to forget to praise our guest Joshua, he was entertaining himself all night while the ladies gossip..
Normally this period of the year, I will be very busy with RFP.. this year, as usually I'm running RFP but I'm FREE.. I'm struggling to think what can I do to add value to my work.. I even run an extra RFP this year just to make myself occupy and feel more useful..
So now I'm surfing net.. and thinking if I should be so nice to make blueberry muffins for Jie Jie this weekend.
Saw my old buddy Moh online today.. just before I was going to pack up and go home.. so I decide to stay a bit to chat with him.. and I missed Moh so much..
I tried to update him that I saw Andrew and Mark last week but he knew it.. sigh! These guys are so fast..
Anyway Moh is going to be in BKK from 19-28Sep.. Jimmy and Fanny will be there too.. Wish I could join them.. He been asking me to go.. and I really want to go BKK.. I'm such a let down..
And when can I go to Geneva to see my dear Moh? sigh..
It been raining.. cold and windy over the past few days.. I'm suffering from flu because of this changing weather.. but I still feel like eating ice-cream.. if got gelato that would be BEST!
I need good foods to generate energy to fight the coldness..
I'm officially into this new project for 1 month 27 days.. I've got 2 appeciation notes from the management.. haha! I'm so delighted.. This weekend will be relaxing and happy :)
I took a day off from work.. wanted to go to Desaru but the plan didn't work out..
Wake up at 10am, went to Tampines to have my fave MOS burger for breakfast follow by a movie The Dark Knight.. There are only 20 people in the cinema..
After the movie, I went to Changi Airport T3 to have coffee, raspberry cheesecake and read Straits Times..
It was relaxing and wonderful.. I'll clear the balance of my vacation by doing the same thing.. hopefully I can do it every months.. haha!! :)
I've been so lazy ever since I'm back from US.. I've a lots to write.. Didi Jerry found new work.. update on my work.. Dinner with Darling.. I'm sick again... etc etc..
I just so tired.. I slept early every night and blood pressure has been really low.. Doc asked me to rest more and listen to my body.. I went to the chinese herb shop two days ago and brought some red date and longan.. so I can make some drink which I heard can increase my blood pressure.. at least better than taking liver :(
I'll try for a period and see if there is any improvement..
Happy Birthday to Prince Julian..
Time flies, this little monster is already two..
From Johnie..
Hey, Happy bday in advance
Didi, Darling, Johnie and I went for a drink last month.. erm.. I met darling at my office.. Didi and Johnie were LATE!! These two man hor.. really don't know what to says... Never once early! or on-time.. Need to chase after them to leave home or office.. sigh! Give up liao..
Anyway we had fun.. is always nice to go out together.. I love their company.. Our next plan, Sentosa.. but Johnie and me schedule are full.. we have to travel.. so next outing should be in mid or late July..Photo's time..
Last night I watched my 1st "live" base ball game.. it was GREAT!! I thought I will never like the game but I love it.. The atmosphere was good! noise, wave, sing, foods, chat.... I enjoyed it.. there is one part when the camera shot a couple.. they must kiss.. and all those couples that were shot.. they really kiss! be it young or old couple.. haha!! Then we were laughing.. what if they shot us.. cause there are 31 of us.. and we were laughing so hard.. Lucky I'm in between both girls..
I got a Frank Robinson bobble head doll :) and I want to go for another game!
Hmm.. my superior make me feel like crying today..
She gave me a personal letter.. hand written.. she think so highly of me.. she was even so proud that Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test show me as "Life's natural leaders" and "Most Commanding"..
I told her that i've a presentation to do for tomorrow and that I was all ready to transit over my role back to customer.. and that I says they probably can find better way to do better analysis than me.. her immediate reply was "No.. I don't think so.. you have done the best"..
.. I'm so lucky to have such a nice superior
A personal letter from my superior..
"Congratulations on your new role with XXX. There's no doubt that your new leadership will quickly come to rely on your talent, energy and professionalism as Tom and I have. Please accept my great thanks for your many contributions and hard work on the XXX account. Please accept, too, my great good wishes for ongoing successful and satisfaction in your career. It's been a pleasure to work with you, and I surely hope our paths will cross again.. Sincerely, Harriet"
Flying off this weekend.. 9949 miles away from home..
For the 1st time, I’m quite relax for this trip.. Just need to present what I've been doing and not seriously rushing for tonnes of preparation work (e.g. meeting materials, notes, clearing work etc)..
Strange..
Attended the farewell dinner for Deon at Kuriya Japanese Restaurant @ Raffles City..
Now I finally know why I was given this assignment.. sigh! The job is not difficult.. I just need time to speed up and meet the needs of the stakeholders.. The major problem is the incorporation and push back from the ops buyer.. Through the conference call today, I was so mad that the ops buyer for pushing back the work to me.. Damn it!!
I told them that I need coopration from them to work as a team and that if they refuse to cooperate with me.. once I pick up the speed.. I will do all the work including the ops work and he will be jobless.. they immediately put the phone on mute after I finish this sentence.. and I was shocked!! I asked my manager.. did they put the phone on mute and are they trying to digest what I have told them.. having a discussion? And my manager says they are having french fries and coffee.. So I scolded "f***ing rude lor".. I showed the ops buyer and his manager what I'm capable of... infront of my manager.. haha!! :) Lucky my manager was very nice and supportive :)
When they return to line, the ops manager told me that he understand where I'm coming from and that they were much more cooperative.. We are calling for a meeting with the ops manager when he come to Singapore on 11June.. I told my manager that I'll throw my designation at him.. damn it!!
I didn't tell most of the people that my assignment was ending and I'm leaving.. I really don't want them to buy me lunch and gift.. so I sent out an email at the end of the days to selective people.. here is some of the nice note from my customer..
"Thank you so much!
It is really pity that you won’t join us.. You are our Hero and we all like you… Good luck in your new role in XXX and let’s keep in touch :)"... CZ
"Thank you so much Winnie for all the help and support during the short time we had a chance to interact. I personally felt bad when I heard you’re not joining us but am sure you have your own reasons which will be for the best. Good luck on another chapter in your career!"... MB
"Will definitely miss you as you are such a good help and co worker!!!"... PK
"I would like to thank you for the work that you have done for Travel Services. I had heard so many good things about you before I joined the ES organization, and had enjoyed the time working with you if only just for a few months. It is regrettable that we could not work together longer. I wish you luck in your next assignment. I know you will do well wherever you go"... LJD
"It’s too bad I never saw you in person until you moved back. I was working home these past couple of days. I’d like to thank you for all the help that you have given ES as well as me personally, over these past few months. You really made a difference when you were here. Although it’s unfortunate that we won’t be working together anymore, I do sincerely wish you the best in your new role. Good luck and thank you!".. RE
Another tough assignment.. Official onboard will be July as I’m in transition now and need to prepare for business trip to US for 3 weeks… handover files and provide training to client.. then I can move on.
This week, I’m doing familiarization work to the two different work locations (Jurong and UE Square) for my new assignment.. My new assignment requires me to juggle between two locations thus cannot drive to work.. I don’t want to get 2 season parking and use half a month each.. need to work out the logistics and tune myself to the culture on new client.
1st day in Jurong.. it took me 1.50hrs to travel from home to work.. the journey is like hiking but I should be ok if it does not rain. There is also not many eateries in that area probably I’m not familiar with the place yet. I should be ok with this as I’m not fussy with lunch.
2nd day in UE Square.. I was super early today so I went to Starbucks for a cup of coffee.. enjoy the air-con with my ipod and blogging.. I feel that I’m back to civilization after a day in Jurong.. haha!! This area is much better but I heard the client will moved out next year since the rental is expensive. Today was a bad day, I met a contact here and I know he is not easy.. We had a ops call today and I feel the call was terrible.. I’m going back to HDQ tomorrow afternoon and I will definitely need to thrash things out with the management.
This thought just run through my mind…. Am I a fire fighter for my company? This customer got problem.. so there you goes with your distinguisher and clean up the mess!! I know the route ahead is going to be tough because of what the transition team have contributed and the client is unhappy.. The job is not difficult but I need to pick up the pace when I go onboard in July.. Give myself 3 months and I’m confidential that I’ll be able to please the stakeholder.
I rejected the client offer for a regional job.. Am I stupid? I’m not sure but my mind is set. Everyone around me is very supportive.. I hope it is a right choice.
People tend to think that you get a job offer! Wow.. that is so great! But seriously I feel otherwise this time. I’ve a good job and good colleagues therefore it is a tough decision. You need to make a decision.. and you are sure to regret no matter what you choose.. My colleague says 1 thing to me which I totally agree. You will only regret later when you are not happy.. You tend to look back and ask yourself that if I would have chosen the other option.. Wouldn’t I be happier now? Human are greedy!!
I just want to write this down so when I regret.. I can look back..
“Remember…. I choose to go back to my company because of my colleagues and bosses.. They understand and care about me.. we are a great team although we are going to be separated after the repatriation but at least we are still in the same company. We have the same mission and vision.. I know they will always be there for me when I need it!! and the retention bonus for accepting the new assignment play a part too.”
Metallics silver and bronze colour... I love the silver one!! metallics silver can match anything.. so classy, elegant and gorgeous.. it can be use all-year round.. day, night, work, dinner.. never out of style.. When they first launched the Mahina L & XL.. I already fall in love with it.. but the size is a little too big for me.. I don't have that much to carry.. Now the XS size is in market and need to go check it out... The size might be still a little big but I doubt there will be a XXS in market.. haha! Gosh! I want this... thinking, craving and must have... so now need to cool off... cause it is over priced and it is going to burn a hole in my pocket..
To my dearest Mum, we wish you a Happy Mother's day... thank for taking care the 4 of us.. I know is not easy as you struggle to make end-meet... we love you...
I gave her a choice of either nice meal or ang bao.. and she actually want a "pig trotter in vinegar".. so I called her when I was outside.. thinking I can get her a popular pig trotter with vinegar from Foch Road but she says jie jie is buying her Thai pineapple and fried fish from the Thai restuarant in Yishun.. and she is stuck in traffic jam :)
No dinner outing on actual day cause it is always crowded but will definitely buy mum a nice meal..
Had a call with my boss this morning... feel much better although not the best feeling.. he already support it.. so it is really up to me now..
I need to know how to says NO... NO.. NO. to people for pushing me.. & I did it.. just an hour ago.. haha!! Now I'm feeling bad.. but I shouldn't be :)
Last night I bump into Johnie at my workplace lobby... We had a chat and promise to meet soon for a drink.. He suggested a new place at Punggol Park (near Hougang).. I know I've neglected all my friends because of my new job..
We had a short chat and I had to rush off because it was late and I was really hungry.. he was also with a friend who came back from Thailand..
This morning.. I received sms from Johnie..
"Just want to remind u to relax at work and don't be too stress out.. you can do it de"
He is so sweet :)
Wake up at 9am.. went to Bedok Chin Siong to get a roasted chicken, roast pork and char siew for daddy... then had my fave yong tau foo.. the price finally went up.. it is now 25 cents per piece after so many years.. Mum and me still enjoyed it..
This year, we went a little bit earlier than last year.. it was still packed and crowded.. police was around to control the traffic..
Hey my dear daddy & granny.. I'm here to see you again!! Once a year and time really fly... This year I take charge of praying, arranging the items, cleaning and burning.. cause I'm the only child that went 祭祖 with mum. Jie Jie has to look after two monkey, Mei Mei got to look after 5 doggies and Bro D is working..
As usual I report to daddy what is going on at home.. and mum complaint to daddy about Bro D.. I think daddy not so interested.. haha! :P
My boss always MSN me when we are on conference call.. Even when he is the presenter... He can really multitask..
I'm so lucky to have such a nice boss that we can joke.. he don't even track me on what I do.. he leave it all to me.. he don't even question..
Boss: how do you think the review is going
Bear: i think the result is good
Boss: so are you having fun with XXX :)
Bear: Kill me!!
Boss: no - not yet we need you to complete the negotiations
Bear: :) u are a lady killer... handling so many ladies at one go..
Boss: no - my wife keeps me squarly in check....lol
Bear: haha!!
31 March 2008 marked Nico's 1st birthday...
Nico is created by his Singaporean daddy and Japanese mummy.. so she need to experience the traditional Japanese ceremony for child who reach their 1st 365 days of life.. On this day, It means that Nico has to shouldered a Bag Of Rice (abt the weight of Ten Cups of Glutinous Rice. Ten-Cups in Old Japanese means "Whole Life". A symbolism of "Ones will shouldered the load of their own life and walk on" :P
I thot Patrick was just joking.. how can a baby carry that amount of rice and walk? According toYasuko's experiences with other kids during this ceremony. Children cries loud and most would not even step out. However, the brave little Nico walk (tho she did cry)..
See these lovely pic.. it just pain my heart.. a little cute baby with such burden..

Poor but BRAVE Nico..

Yesterday was a BAD day for me...
1st, I was locked out of the system by company admin all day.. I struggle with the IT department thinking that my password has expired.. after lunch, we realized that I was transferred to another company without my knowledge. Obviously, it was a mistake by HR.
2nd, there was a news in the office.. that I'm not suppose to share... People think is a good news but I'm not sure.. somehow, there are rumours spreading in the office.. and people are asking me.. I've to act BLUR!!
3rd, continuously 2 nightly conference calls that start at 8pm.. I have to leave office at 6pm in order to be home for the call.. but as usual, I was delayed.. I stayed in office till around 6.45pm and there was a traffic jam due to the rain.. while driving along the AMK Ave 5, a stone flew to my windscreen and created a 1.5cm “snow flake” crack on it.. and I was late for the call :(
Need to make a tough decision over the next 3 weeks…
Baffling.. confound.. perplexed.. ponder… what is my future?
Dream about what pleases you, Go where you want to go, Be who you want to be, You only have one life, To do what makes you happy.
