Seek New and Better Ways of Doing Things

~*~*~*~
Queuing is the act of waiting in line for something, at a restaurant, a movie, at a convenience store etc. In the 1920's a government organization tried to find ways of helping people wait in line for less time. For businesses that have lines for their customers, instead of forming separate lines behind each individual employee serving customers, the agency came up with the idea of forming one big line and then routing the next customer in that big line to the next available employee. This act alone reduced wait times for an average line by more than 30%.

Did the old system work? Yes. But there was a better system that the organization found that saved valuable time and resources.

Ask yourself this question: What have you improved upon in your daily work, specifically, what have you tried doing in a new or better way?
